Do you ever wonder exactly how successful your business’ Facebook posts are? Many brands aren’t utilizing Facebook’s full potential because they are unaware of the incredibly useful instruments available to measure engagement for free! By utilizing these tools, brands can reach their ideal customers easily.
We’ve posted two previous blogs that offer simple ways to increase engagement, as well as simple methods to promote your best content. Here is the final installment in our Facebook series of blogs, which offers ways to maximize the power of Facebook to reach and connect with your target audience.
Using the Facebook Insights Tab
By using Facebook’s Insights tab, you are able to view posts and judge the success of your content. This tool shows you statistics and graphs that compare current post engagement to post engagement from previous weeks or months. It also offers invaluable information such as fan demographics. By analyzing this data, you can see the age, gender, location and behavior of people who are engaging with your page.
It’s important to keep a close eye on these statistics to ensure that your engagement continues to rise because it will help you determine how to tailor your content to satisfy your audience’s demographic. Simply monitor posts closely and adjust your techniques relative to the standing of the post’s statistics.
Post During Peak Hours
If you want to reach your audience, you must determine the most popular time of day to post content to reach the greatest amount of users. What good is it if you post content that doesn’t reach your audience? In fact, it’s actually counterproductive because you are exhausting your resources and failing to provide a positive ROI.
It’s imperative to post during peak hours to garner the most engagement. Facebook contains an accessory that allows you to view when your fans are online. To view when your fans are active, click Insights and then proceed to click Posts. It’s essential to post when your fans are online if you want to increase your business’ Facebook engagement.
If you segment your audiences by age, generally it’s easier to determine peak hours. If your target market is millennial, your business’ peak hours are likely to be late at night. Contrastingly, if you are targeting mothers, your business’ peak hours may be during the day while kids are at school. Try segmenting your audience by age to simplify posting times.
If your business involves a service offering tutoring, then your target market probably includes parents of students. Parents usually pick up their children from school around 2:30-3:30pm and scroll through Facebook as they wait for school to be dismissed. Thus, the ideal time to post content for a tutoring business to reach the majority of your audience is at 3:00 pm.
Adjust Post Frequency
If your business posts randomly throughout the day, you risk the possibility that many fans will not see the posts. This is detrimental to your business’ Facebook page. You may choose to use a third party source such as Hootsuite that allows you to create posts and schedule them ahead of time to post during peak hours. Third party sources are especially beneficial when your business’ peak hours are not during the average workday. You can even use Facebook to schedule posts ahead of time.
If you have a teenage apparel business, try posting product content at night because teenagers are at school during the day and often have extracurricular afterwards. However, your business is likely to close around 5pm. How will you post content to reach your audience if your business is closed? Using a third party source to schedule your post ahead of time allows you to reach teenagers even during non business hours.
Research and Plan Ahead
For the best results, use the insights tab to find prime time post hours and schedule Facebook posts ahead of time. This eliminates the chances of your posts becoming buried in newsfeeds while fans are offline. Take advantage of the user-friendly tools Facebook offers to increase and monitor engagement. Don’t be afraid to experiment with different content techniques to see what garners the most engagement. When you notice a spike in engagement, make note of it. Embrace techniques that attract popularity and discard techniques that aren’t as successful.
